My husband and I had the pleasure of getting married at Sojourn Lakeside Resort the first weekend of October, and it was an incredible experience. The property, set on the shores of Dixon Lake, is absolutely beautiful and offered so much for our guests to enjoy—kayaks, paddle boards, a pickleball court, and even a basketball court. Everyone loved exploring the grounds, which were beautifully maintained and landscaped. Joy and Rob were phenomenal to work with. They are true professionals—knowledgeable, responsive, and dedicated to creating the best possible experience for couples and their guests. Their guidance and hard work made our wedding weekend seamless and unforgettable.

I recently attended a wedding event at the resort and was so pleased with the cleanliness of the resort, The pristine surroundings. And the fact that it was so nice and private and only wedding guests were there. I would highly recommend this resort for any event.

We just returned from a 4 day reunion at Sojourn and we couldn’t have been happier with the accommodations! Everything was immaculate and the memories created will last a lifetime!! We had 50 people ranging in ages from 2 to 83 years old and all of us are looking forward to coming back. The grounds allow for peace and serenity with the pool, the lake, the rooms and the sandbar lounge all for our family’s use. Joy and Rob were a pleasure to work with and they answered any questions we had within minutes! I am hoping to make this an annual event and be able to continue memorable moments!

The venue is absolutely beautiful, with stunning lakeside views that are perfect for a memorable celebration. What really impressed me was how thorough and informative the GM, Joy, was during the entire process. She took the time to answer all my questions, provided helpful details, and made me feel confident about choosing this venue. Attended a wedding recently and stayed in a room for three nights. All of the staff were excellent, kind and helpful. Rob especially was on top of everything and a complete pro. The location itself is beautiful but some of the buildings could use some updating. The pool specifically needs some work. My wife and I had our two toddlers with us and they loved going between the lake and pool and having beach toys available to use. The rooms were adequate, LOVED the shower.

We have our annual family reunion at Sojourn every year. It’s such a perfect space! Rooms are great and all the facilities are perfect! Beautiful beach and outdoor spaces. Campfires and stargazing at night, beach and swimming pool for hot days!

Booking Sojourn for our wedding was the best choice we could have made. The venue was BEAUTIFUL. Joy helped us so much leading up to the wedding by giving us ideas on vendors, decor and preparing for the weekend. During the weekend, Joy and Rob did an incredible job of making sure everything ran smoothly and we had everything we needed. Everything was so easy. Having everyone there for the weekend was so fun, and there’s so much to do on the property. My family is already talking about booking the venue for a family reunion because they loved it so much. I would recommend Sojourn to anyone who wants a fun, low stress, gorgeous wedding!

We got married here in August of 2023, and to say we had a great time would be an understatement. I've always dreamed of getting married by the water or in the woods, and this venue allowed both things to happen! We were there Thursday afternoon to Sunday morning, and we never got tired of the place. There is so much room for friends and family, and the property is loaded with activities (tennis, kayaking, boating, swimming, etc.) We were nervous that maybe the reception hall would feel too crammed during our reception, but it was very comfortable, and our guests had plenty of room to roam around. The landscaping was so beautiful and impressive, and the rooms and reception hall were very up-to-date and clean. Joy and her staff were so hospitable and accommodating to our needs. Please check this place out for future weddings, reunions, parties, etc! We cannot say enough great things about this place!!!!

Family Wedding And Family Vacation Perfect venue for both!!! Our family has been vacationing together for 27 years and Sojourn Lakeside Resort is the best there is in Michigan!!! It has something for everyone!!! We have 40+ people to please and this place pleases everyone!!! That is a miracle lol!!! This is our 3rd year coming here. We love it so much that this year we had a family wedding!!! It was awesome!!!

Sojourn was the absolute best place to celebrate our wedding weekend with our family and friends! The resort is absolutely beautiful and our guests were so excited to spend the weekend together. It was so fun to watch our family and friends get to know each other throughout the weekend going on boat rides, playing sand volleyball, and sitting around the campfire. Joy and Rob were phenomenal at answering our questions and assisting us with anything we needed leading up to the wedding and throughout the entire weekend. It was such an amazing way to spend our wedding because we were able to have not just one day celebrating but an entire weekend! I wish we could do it all over again! :)
