Beaver Creek Resort receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising the scenic location and activities like the water slide and mini-golf. However, recurring concerns involve inconsistent staffing, maintenance issues, water quality problems, and a lack of responsiveness from management. Recent updates suggest a change in ownership, and some improvements have been made, but significant challenges remain.
Hard to rate this campground. Strange is best word. Appears to be an older forest resort. Positive. Pretty setting around man made lake. Nice paved Rv site. Convenient to Gaylord. Enjoyed walking around the campground. When I booked the site, over the phone, very helpful. Amenities such as pool and water slide we didn’t use, so no opinion. Office isn’t manned, when we arrived no printed information, map, etc. Called the # on door, no call back. I had the site # on email, so went and parked. Very few folks in lakeside section of campground. Wish they warned me about water, I would have used my fresh tank and bought drinking water. Other campgrounds with rusty awful stinky water warn me. Now I have stubborn rust stains everywhere in my brand new trailer, in my hair, etc. gonna need to buy special cleaners and shampoo to remove and scrub out. Trashed my water filter. Honestly feel I should get a partial or total refund for the aggravation and damage. The bathhouse in the campground cleaned once in four days, it was disgusting. No Wi-Fi, ok cell service. From internet, looks like new ownership this year, hope it is growing pains. There are so many great aspects to this beautiful location.
This is our first stay. Everything was great! We had full hookup and had no issues. All of the amenities were nice! Grounds were clean and well kept. The new owners were busy at work fixing things that needed it. Will definitely be staying again!!
Cabin was cute and only 2 years old. Everything seemed pretty perfect until a rainstorm came through in the night and a roof leak left our daughter’s bed soaked and she finished the night on the couch. When we went in to inform the office, and the office hours indicated they would be open at 9a on Saturday, there was a message saying they wouldn’t be back until noon. So we called to inform them around 12:30p and no one answered, so we left a detailed message requesting a call back, and as 9p, no call back received . It would have only been good business to make a call to apologize for the inconvenience, but unfortunately it did not happen. Would not recommend staying there.
We loved this campground. We visited over the 4th of July for our first time. They had great activities for the kids and awesome amenities! Our campsite backed right up to the state trails, and it was perfect for our boys to ride their dirt bikes. We had so much fun with the golf cart rentals as well. The best Putt-Putt course we have ever been to.. And the best part, it was right in the campground. Then of course.. The super fun and amazing water slide. We can't wait to be back! Great job, great place. Wishing you all of the best Poppy's!
Its a bit hard to rate them at this time. We were there mother's day week and the only staff was there was thr maintenance workers. Their office and store did not open up until may 13th. We arrived on May 9th. The campsite was clean. The individual sites were smaller than we normally get. Not enough space for our canopy if you had neighbors. The full hook up was great and worker without an issue. The pond was stocked and fishing permitted. We did have access to the indoor pool and hot tub. Both were clean and relaxing. I was told by another person in our party that the washer and dryer were not working. The resort is changing names so this is a transitioning period for them. During the warmer months this place would be great woth the waterside and putt putt area. They had basket ball court amd play ground. There are also cabins.
We had lots of issues starting with no one available to check in. We went in February so I understand it isn't as busy but we've been repeatedly in the past and this has never been an issue. We called and emailed numerous times to get ahold of someone since the code to our cabin wouldn't work either. We were late checking in by the time we could get ahold of someone. Then the lights in the kitchen wouldn't work. We found a blown fuse but then ran into issues with the fireplace downstairs that the switch didn't work on. This continued with finding no light bulb in a lamp to the upstairs shower not working. 12 people had to use 1 shower! We called and the only person available to assist was at the bar. He finally came over that night and said he'd get us a discount. Then we get to the clubhouse and the sauna is out of order and the hot tub was dirty. We asked for some cleaning to be done so we could use it and no one would answer again. Since leaving that weekend, we never got a discount and never heard back from anyone despite repeat calls! They won't even answer phone calls and still no response to my email from check in.
Unfortunately I have to leave an overall 1 star review due to my experience. I paid $250 a night for one of the cabins during the heat of July when the AC and hot water were not working. I informed guest services multiple times during my stay and at no point did anyone even attempt to fix these issues. Worst of all I was told management already knew about the issues in this particular cabin for a couple weeks before we arrived. I had booked this months in advance for my cousin's wedding so they knew well before then we were staying but no one bothered to change the cabin we were in or even make any sort of change to accommodation this issue. I was never informed about the issues ahead of time either. I've made many attempts to even have a conversation with management but no one has responded. Multiple calls to guest services who said they would let the manager know I called, multiple voice mails left on the manager's direct line, and multiple emails left unanswered. Overall the cabin was actually very nice despite the problems but with the horrible customer service I would steer clear of this place.
Camped at the Campground for 4 days. This place I'm sure was really nice in its prime but now it needs a lot of maintenance and has been neglected. The dog run is very run down with weeds and broken fencing posts. The well water is very bad and full of rust and smells. ( Ruined my water heater even with a filter) There are uncapped sewer lines for full hookups in the campground right next to your camper and the smell is horrible. No WiFi as advertised. No one manning the office to check in or purchase firewood. Mold growing in the corner of the showers. Below is pictures of the dog run.
Darwin and staff were awesome. Very accommodating for our time in Gaylord. Safe, quiet, peaceful campground. Great cabins are available also if you don't have a RV. Look forward to returning after winter.
Everything is super nice. There people are very friendly young lady working up front in the office with super friendly, but the water was horrible. It made all of our toilets and sinks turn rusty yellow, even with filters.
