Alpen Bluffs Cabins is a developing resort with significant construction ongoing, offering a glimpse of its future potential. While some guests appreciate the cabin quality and friendly staff, current amenities are limited, and multiple reviews highlight inconsistencies between advertised features and the actual experience, leading to concerns about bait-and-switch tactics and a lack of transparency. The project's long-term vision is promising, but current guests should be aware of the unfinished state.
Be aware before you book here. This place is not as advertised on the website. Maybe it will be one day but not now. You are basically camping in a Walmart parking lot. Not a tree over two feet tall and grass is hard to find and patchy at this point. The facilities that are done are nice and the staff was great. However, the features they said they had that we came for with our kids are non existent. They didn't let us know ahead of time, you find out at check-in. No pool, no playground, no jumping pillow, nothing but pavement and construction. The inflatables in the retention pond were not even fully inflated. We had a Bobcat running up and down the road all morning on Saturday. The wind was horrible and there is no mature landscaping to act as a barrier. Out of the dozen occupied campsites I think at least 8 were construction workers working on the facility. It might be a nice place in 5 years but after the bait and switch they pulled on us we won't ever go back. Update after owners response- While it's nice they responded it is 100% false that they reached out to update guests. We booked in December and didn't ever hear 1 peep from them about not being fully operational. We even talked to them on the phone a couple weeks before our stay to let them know we had a different camper than when we booked and update our reservation. No mention of anything was made at that time either.
My wife and I have been to Alpen Bluffs many times. The facility is large with many things to do,such as swimming with large flotations and slides, along with more outside games. All cabins to be rented are gorgeous. The food is very reasonably priced, and very good.Inside also has several golf simulators for all golfers, along with a first class bar!!If you need anything for your stay they have a nice store. We love the place and will plan longer stays! Thank you Alpen Bluffs
Stayed here while in town visiting some friends & was very happy with my stay! Management is great. The cabin we stayed in was very clean & very spacious. We were able to comfortably fit 4 adults & 4 children with room to spare. Plenty of places to sleep as the cabin offers 2 full loft beds, a pull out couch, a bunk bed & a bedroom with a full bed. Kitchen was fully furnished & had a nice little breakfast bar & table for us to eat at. Bathroom was nice & clean. Shampoo/conditioner, washcloths & towels were provided for showers. The front of the cabin has a porch that’s perfect for early morning sunrises or sunsets. We had Mulligans at the bluff for dinner which was across from our cabin & it was fantastic. If you forgot anything for your stay & need to run to the store no worries! Walmart & Meijer are 7 mins away! Super convenient. We were unable to do the extra activities due to it being April & the weather. However, we can’t wait to go back this summer to get the full experience. I’ve already recommended this place to family & friends.
We were looking for something to do for a teenager birthday party on a possibly rainy day in October, and we found Alpen Bluffs' virtual golf online. I emailed for more information and heard back immediately from a manager, who was responsive and answered all my questions. He reserved two bays, Bay 3 and 4, for us yesterday, October 18th. It was a great time! Ten boys, 14 and 15 years old, played virtual golf for about an hour and half with drinks and appetizers. The manager gave us a deal with a large group booking and the server was always conscious and helpful to keep within our budget for 12 people! We got all-around awesome service and everyone was so nice. The boys loved it!
We stopped by to take a look and walk around, and we loved it! The staff was very welcoming, especially Kaylyn in the restaurant. She helped us with the Golf simulation and we had a great time! Looking forward to staying in the campground next season!
We've been here for 4 days (leaving tomorrow), and have loved it! Sure, it's still in the construction process and has limited amenities, but we've thoroughly enjoyed our stay with everything that's currently offered. The food at Mulligans is fantastic! We've eaten there 3 of the 4 days and loved it every time. The water playground is wonderful! The staff is very attentive and our 7 year old would've stayed and played all day everyday if we let him. Every single employee that we've encountered has been exceptional! From management (shout-out to Jim) to the people working at every desk and every booth. They've all gone above and beyond for us without having ever been asked. When construction is done and all amenities are available, I predict that it'll be hard to get a reservation. It'll be a true gem and we look forward to coming back, and experiencing it all!
We stayed for one night passing through with our fifth wheel. Very friendly staff, nice concrete pads with room for our dually. We ate at the restaurant, the food was excellent and very reasonable. We look forward to stopping again for a longer duration and seeing the finished park. It's coming along great. Looks like a huge investment!
We used their RV park and the restaurant last night. Excellent RV grounds, concrete pads with all hook ups, level and clean! Very helpful staff. Great food and atmosphere. Nice to discover this new development. We will stop here every year and enjoy this beautiful project that will be incredible when completed. Yes, it's under construction at the moment, it's our pleasure to help this incredible undertaking have a little cash flow in areas that are completed!
We recently stayed in a cabin at this resort and wanted to share an honest review of our experience. Unfortunately, several amenities were still under construction due to circumstances outside of their control, which did impact our stay — especially with construction noise starting early in the morning and continuing into the evening hours. On a positive note, the cabin we stayed in was absolutely beautiful and very functional. It was clear a lot of care was put into the design and setup, and it truly made for a comfortable home base during our trip. We were a bit disappointed that the waterpark — one of the main attractions for families — didn’t offer any discount for resort guests, even given the other areas still being unfinished. Additionally, we noticed several lifeguards seemed distracted during their shifts, which was concerning considering the inflatable water features. We also feel that there might be a need for more than one lifeguard due to the expanse of the water area. That said, the staff we interacted with were friendly and did their best to accommodate guests. My grandson has a severe peanut and tree nut allergy, and the chef at Mulligan’s was excellent with accommodating him. He listened to and addressed our concerns and made sure that my grandson had a safe meal. We did love the amenities that were available. The use of the golf cart and bikes was a lot of fun for our family. We genuinely see the potential for this to become an outstanding resort once everything is completed. We’re hopeful that by next year, the construction will be done and operations will be running more smoothly. We’d love to give it another try in the future and see it at its full potential.
PROS: Friendly enough staff. Aquatic Park and beach was a good time (yet not included in the price of your stay…) The cabins are nice and new. AC/ceiling fan worked great. Good amount of towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided along with dish soap, 1 partial roll of paper towel, and sponge since there is no dishwasher. The bedding provided was great. Many layers if needed. They gave us more toilet paper when needed. CONS: Zero communication between staff members. Contradictory information given out, clearly no notes are taken when confirming bookings because we received 3 separate calls from 3 separate staff members. Cabin lots are completely unfinished. It is a literal construction site. There were construction vehicles moving dirt around directly where we were staying when we arrived. Traveling with small kids and there was exposed wiring surrounding the cabin. Unsafe and a huge liability. No grass or fire pits/grills available for use at the cabins. Literally everything has an up charge. There is not pricing disclosure on the website or posted anywhere. We were surprised to find out that after paying almost $600 for a weekend stay in the cabin, literally nothing is included. If your cabin is full (8 people) and you have more than 1 vehicle staying on site overnight, it’s $25 PER VEHICLE PER NIGHT. Logistically this just doesn’t make sense and is absurd. Zero attractions are done except the aquatic park and disappointing putt putt golf course in the middle of the parking lot that costs $8 per person. My chicken tenderloins on my sliders at Mulligan’s were so overcooked it had the consistency of leather. Pickles tasted rotten. My meal was not edible. Most others were okay. Not at all worth all the $ spent for an unfinished place. The website was not updated to “coming soon” or “estimated finish date 3rd quarter 2025” when we booked our stay in early 2025. We booked this place based on a recommendation from a staff member at the 2024 GR RV show and obvious complete false advertising. In fact, our dissatisfaction is what prompted website revisions to what is shown now. For our troubles, we were offered a free use of the golf simulator and a discount at Inukshuk. A partial refund of our stay or even just the money spent on parking would have been better all things considered. There is a right and a wrong way to open a new business and this was very wrong. Book at your own risk and hope that Summer 2026 and beyond proves to be better.
