Fairfield Inn Gaylord consistently receives positive feedback for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and convenient location near the interstate and local attractions. Guests appreciate the comfortable rooms, breakfast options, and helpful amenities like EV charging, though some have experienced issues with noise and facility maintenance.
The parking was abundant. The location right off the interstate is convenient. We were warmly welcomed and our room was ready. All those small, our room was comfortable, clean and convenient. The breakfast was nicely done and everything that we needed. The walls are a little thin but it was a good experience all in all.
Staff was great. However when we ask for a quiet room they put us on the street side of the hotel. Traffic woke my husband at 430am We know that the one across the whole at the back of the hotel was open because we heard another family come in later that evening with a screaming child.
We went there with some friends over the weekend and had a total of 7 kids ranging from ages 6-13. What the hotel didn’t know was that we were going there for a staycation after a significant loss in our lives. The rooms were beautiful, and clean. The beds were comfy. The accommodations were fantastic, including the breakfast, and the staff was AMAZING! Every single person from the front desk, to housekeeping, to the maintenance guy was so friendly. They were happy to help with anything and I never seen one of them without a smile. Thank you Fairfield staff of Gaylord for bringing a little calm to all of our storms. 10/10 recommended!
The front desk staff were very friendly and the hotel was clean. It was in a good location, near a number of restaurants and grocery stores, but also a short distance from the highway which was appreciated. The EV chargers (2) were one of the main reasons we picked this hotel and helped us hit the road the next morning to head to Boyne Mountain without making another stop. Breakfast bar was well maintained and good assortment of food, would definitely stay here again!
We totally enjoyed my stay at the Fairfield Inn in Gaylord, Michigan. The rooms were spacious and very clean, and the bathroom was also large and spotless. Breakfast was awesome, and the service throughout my stay was excellent , everyone I interacted with was very welcoming and friendly. It felt very “Gaylord, Michigan,” with snowmobiles right in the parking lot, which added to the local charm. One thing I really appreciate about this hotel (and why I’ll take it over an Airbnb any day) is the 12:00 PM checkout time. When traveling solo it’s nice, but when traveling with family it’s a huge relief. The hotel is easy to find, with a gas station right next door, and it’s within walking distance to many places , most spots are just two or three blocks away. You can even walk downtown for a nice stroll. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely come back and stay here again whenever I’m in Gaylord.
We left behind our little green stuffed dinosaur (name: Dinosaurio) on our way back to Tampa, Florida. Alyssa went above and beyond to brighten our day. I thought I was just getting the stuffed dinosaur in the mail, but Alyssa added a paper with a cute note and 6 different images of our dinosaur enjoying another day on property. Our stuffed dinosaur was helping out at front desk, putting together a puzzle, playing in the snow, eating cookies in bed and getting another restful night sleep before making the long trip back to Tampa on a FedEx plane. Alyssa's kindness and humor will be talked about for years to come! She brought smiles and a touch of laughter to our faces! 5 out of 5 stars for sure!! 6 stars if we could give it! Great hotel! Love, Yohan and Charlie!
Stayed here for 3 days during the 2025 Christmas holiday to go skiing at Boyne Mountain Resort. Very convient 30 minute drive to the resort with the benefit of many stores, restaurants, and gas stations in the vicinity. It snowed heavily on the last day of our stay and the hotel provided shovels and scrapers by the front door to clean off our car. The staff was very friendly and the decor was modern. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet which rotated menu items each morning. We will stay here again!
Had a one night stay. Arrived Dec 5th, departed Dec 6th RM 325. There were snowmobile ripping in your parking lot at 10pm / 12am / 2am. The same group. At 10pm I didn't say anything then. Trying to be understanding for late arrivers. Then at 12:00am they woke me up. I went downstairs to talk to your night audit. She said she would forward the complaint to see if compensation was in order, and talk to the snowmobilers. She was nice and understanding. The group left again at 12:00 am both her and I both knew they would come back as there trailer was still there. They did at 2am. A little quieter this time but still managed to wake me up. I talked to the morning staff this morning Dec 6th at 8:55am. They did not seem to care weren't apologetic. Said they would talk to the GM (GM was out) and they would talk to the snowmobilers.... i have a 2.5 hour drive. I am hoping a coffee run will help me not fall asleep because I didn't get much. The picture is right out the window in 325 of the snowmobiler group that woke me up numerous times. Update: the hotel reached out and refunded the room. Good customer service... Raising to 4.
The room was clean. The staff was friendly. The shower was mineralized and dribbling. The toilet did not flush on the first try, so you had to stand there and wait for it to fill again. The smoke alarm flashes brightly in the dark every few minutes. Bed was too soft. If we had stayed for more than one night, I would have requested to switch rooms or tried a different hotel.
A great experience. Lady at the front desk was very accommodating and friendly. There is a very relaxing feel when you walk in. Clean. Room was also nice and clean. Our room was a king suite so it had two TVs and a couch which was nice to sit on and eat. The mattress was great! There was a lot of breakfast options as well.
