Treetops Resort receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising the friendly staff, beautiful setting, and fun activities like tubing and skiing. However, recurring concerns center around inconsistent service, dated facilities, and issues with amenities, particularly regarding room cleanliness and pool temperatures. Recent reviews indicate improvements in staff friendliness but highlight ongoing problems with room comfort and service speed.

Been here numerous times, but it's been awhile. I thought it would be a great place for the grandkids first time out, being smaller. Purchased a Groupon that clearly stated that it included 2 next day lift tickets on arrivals of Thursday-Saturday. At registration I was told to go across the hall, there I was told they'll handle it at the lift ticket window in the morning. Had 2 lessons scheduled at 10, waiting for shuttle at 9 only to find out they don't run till 10. Long story short after much explaining ended up paying for 4 lift tickets so the grandkids wouldn't miss their lessons. If Treetops wasn't going to honor the Groupon it would have been nice to just be told that upfront instead of the runaround. That being said, I needed just boots not the skis on 1 rental, no discount. Every other resort I've been to has charged half price. And the service fees for every single thing purchased, even at the window is absolutely ridiculous. Spent $28 just in fees. The temp in the outside pool is way cooler than it use to be, not warm enough to swim in. I can say all of the employees were very kind.

We had a girl's weekend and planned a sleigh ride and snow shoeing and there was a mix up on our sleigh ride tickets and Ed and Brad were beyond helpful making sure we could reschedule our sleigh ride experience. The snow shoeing guides were amazing. Very friendly and helpful and patient with our group. This was my first time at Treetops but it far exceeded my expectations. The resort is beautiful and every staff member we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend staying or just coming for the day you won't be disappointed!

10/5 stars on the ski slopes!! We had an amazing first time at Tree tops resort. We knew nothing about skiing and the staff immediately made us feel comfortable. They all seemed as though they really cared about making sure we were having fun and safe. The ski instructor Autumn went above and beyond to give some basic tips and tricks to make skiing enjoyable and not so overwhelming. The shuttle bus driver Mike was so helpful and considerate. I wish I had gotten all the names of the staff during our visit. The ski hills were so much fun and lots of variety our different abilities. What a great experience. We will be back. And I will make sure our family and friends know about this up north gem. Thank you tree tops! ! . For reference we skied on the afternoon of February 21, 2026.

We had a great visit at Treetops! Everyone that works there is so friendly and helpful! A special shout to Ed and Brad for being so accommodating in on our recent trip with friends. Also, Alan, Caesar and Malik at the Extreme Tubing Hill! They were awesome and made the experience so fun! Can’t wait to come back!!

Everyone was really great. We tried snowboarding and rented them here for the first time, but only one member out of the five in my family enjoyed it. The staff happily switched us out to skis and let our six year old go tubing instead later on. On slopes our fifteen and sixteen year old had a great time. This was their first time skiing, and the staff was very kind to them.

Very friendly and accommodating employees at treetops at all areas. Lodge, Legends on the Hill, Extreme Tubing and the lift operators. Took my wife and two granddaughters to ski and use the pool. No complaints. They really have some great people working at Treetops during the ski season. Clean room.

I want to share some feedback from our recent stay, because this experience fell far short of what we expected and what we were told we would receive. When booking, I specifically requested a quiet room. Instead, we were placed in Room 1223, directly across from the elevator. This location is completely unsuitable for guests seeking rest. There was constant noise from children running the halls, heavy foot traffic, and elevator traffic at all hours. At one point, kids even knocked on our door yelling “room service,” which woke us up. There was not a single moment of peace. The hot tub experience was equally disappointing. Although the posted capacity is 15, we entered when there were only 6 people, and within minutes it grew to at least 23 adults and children. There was no staff present to monitor or manage this, making the area chaotic and uncomfortable rather than relaxing. In addition, the “heated” pool was uncomfortably cold to swim in. This should be monitored more closely, as guests reasonably expect a heated pool to actually be warm. We also expected basic amenities to function properly. Our shower never became more than lukewarm, which made it impossible to properly unwind or start the day comfortably. Dinner at Legends was another letdown. The food lacked even basic seasoning, which is disappointing for a restaurant operating at this level. Overall, this stay did not provide the restful, quality experience we paid for.

I visited Treetops Resort in Gaylord, Michigan, specifically for the tubing, and it was an absolute blast. The tubing session was incredibly fun and unlike anything I’ve done before , you go fast, so be prepared for an adrenaline rush. We had an amazing time from start to finish. I especially want to give a shout-out to Allen, who was super professional and welcoming. From the moment we walked in, he clearly explained what to expect and how everything works, which made the experience even better. The staff launching the tubes were also excellent very professional, safety-focused, and clear with their instructions. They even guide you into different formations; we went down in a triangle spinning formation, which was insanely fun. This truly is some of the best tubing you can experience. To make it even more memorable, snow was falling while we were tubing, and right across the slope you can see the ski resort. If you’re interested in skiing as well, Treetops has a good-sized hill with multiple lanes available. The tubing runs are booked by the hour, and check-in is at a wooden shack that’s a bit hidden on the other side of the mountain, so you’ll need to look for it. The cost was $35 per person, and it was absolutely worth every penny. Overall, we had a fantastic time and highly recommend tubing at Treetops Resort to anyone visiting the area. It’s an exciting, well-run experience that we would definitely do again.

Very good place. They has a "sale" on a Christmas Eve, so we first tried this resort on downhill skiing on Dec 25 for 10$ per person! Two days later we were on XC-ski - probably not the best grooming, but the trails are different, some of them very hard, some easy. We had very good time there with my 11yo kid, while second kid 2yo was playing and watching movies in their playroom. Definitely will return back PS: yes, they renting not only downhill ski, but cross country as well

Pros and cons to everywhere. Pros here are had plenty of towels, had soap like shampoo, conditioner, body wash in the shower. Extra pillows and blankets already in the closet. The heat control works really well. Balcony is nice especially at night seeing the lights from the tubing. The pool is good size and hot tub is hot enough. Right on the mountain so can just wake up and go on the lift. Cons are the pool room the ceiling leaks a little into the pool, the rooms the beds that have 2 beds in it are fulls and pretty tiny. I am 5'5 and my feet were about hanging off the bed. The bed is also extremely firm. As if youre sleeping on a rock and will wake up sore feeling like you slept wrong. Regardless of how many pillows you use. So bad backs won't like these beds. Theirs not alot of space in bed for 2 people. Theirs no microwave to warm food up and they dont do food here or even delivery from the places surrounding. You will have to go out and get it. Called the front desk to ask about that and she didn't say anything rude but her tone was definitely irritated on me asking if the food around here if called can be delivered to the room. Where she asked like on property or away? And I said on property and just saying no we dont do that. Not offering any other solutions to fix the problem. Like letting me know nonlocal places would still deliver to the room. Just said I would have to go in. They don't do breakfast in the hotel area but said that theirs a food place somewhere on the mountain that serves breakfast foods. So you'd have to wake up get gear on and immediately start hiking thru the snow to find the reasturant to get breakfast. We did have a good time but for $180 a night we are just gonna go to a surrounding hotel next time that hopefully have bigger comfier beds that offer breakfast and room service.
