Otsego Resort offers a mixed experience, appealing to value-conscious skiers and golfers seeking a low-key atmosphere. While praised for affordability, friendly staff, and beautiful courses, recent reviews highlight significant service issues, including long wait times, rudeness, and inadequate staffing levels. The resort's older infrastructure and maintenance needs also seem to be impacting the guest experience.
Tribute has great layout and scenic views. Sand traps very rocky and some had plants growing in them. Some fairways were "rotted" -took away from overall experience. Not worth $135.
This has the potential to be a perfect resort but unfortunately it is terrible maintained. It is extremely unsafe to walk anywhere, the entire day there was no salt or attempt at removal. The front desk was notified of how unsafe it is and in response we were told “we usually tell guests to drive and not walk”. The hotel rooms are basic, nothing special. The saving grace was the duck blind with its amazing food. Management should do better with taking care of their staff, we often had the same server for every meal. It is a beautiful ski hill that deserves more
Can't go wrong skiing here. Nothing fancy but friendly staff, good runs small or no loft lines and best of all affordable! If you new to skiing or have younger kids this is the place to work on your skills. Don't expect some high end fancy place, just fun low key place. FYI River lodge is great.
I have been booking a golf trip playing both 18 hole courses and Cam made this such an easy and good experience. He was quick, knew what he was talking about, and friendly. 10/10 would recommend for organizing golf!
Today we skied. Took my grandson for a 2nd time on the hill. The hills were very busy with line ups for everything. The smallest hill is not set up well for young kids who are learning. Too steep, to far from a lift and not magic carpet or tow rope, only chair lifts. I would not recommend for learners. It's very nice for adults.
I have been coming here since I was a little kid. Came back this year to enjoy the winter skiing. I have never experienced such bad service here. Upon arrival at 3pm, we were told to come back to check in at 4pm. We came back at 4pm and were told our rooms weren’t ready. Then no information was given until we complained 2.5 hours later. One room in our party didn’t even get their room until 7pm. Tuesday night dinner was a 2 hour wait for our food. We were seated within 20 minutes, however didn’t get dinner until 10pm. Luckily Dave at the Logmark after dinner was amazing. Wednesday we went to the river cabin for drinks after some skiing. Bartender wouldn’t even acknowledge us—after sitting there for 20 minutes. I understand with how busy it was, things might’ve taken a bit longer, but this was absurd. In addition to the poor service, we also didn’t receive any housekeeping the whole time. Multiple rooms in our party ran out of toilet paper and towels. We found a supply closet to get them ourselves. There was not enough staff for the amount of people at the resort. Ownership changed in 2018, and since then the place has totally gone downhill. More staff and care needs to be taken here—the place is great overall, but service was a big let down.
We held our wedding at Otsego Resort on October 4 weekend. Everything was absolutely perfect from the weather, lodging, golf, wedding ceremony, food and bar and reception. We highly recommend this location for your wedding! Special thanks to Nic for all his coordination and support and to Tracy. And to Duke for his awesome bartending skills at the reception. Everything was just top notch.
Just played the Classic course at Otsego Resort. Great “classic” golf course. Typical elevation changes for a Gaylord area course. Greens were in great shape and lightning fast. Fairways were also in great shape for a daily fee course. Great assortment of tees, typical back tee distance of 6300 but the fronts are only 3920 which is great for a beginner or shorter hitting lady to enjoy their round too! Would definitely recommend!!!
Had a great time playing the Classic. Nice course with a lot of elevation changes. Some of the holes were not that long, but there is a bit of a penalty for missing the Fairways. The staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the round even though it rained. Would definitely play again.
Over a 6 hour round on the Tribute. Had to call the pro shop to send out a ranger. Didn’t change a thing. They jammed in tee times 6 min apart trying to make a buck. Absolute nightmare. For $40 more you can go play Forest Dunes which is infinitely better. Won’t be back.
