The Best Western Gaylord generally receives positive feedback, particularly regarding its location and value. Guests appreciate the comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and convenient access to Boyne Mountain and local amenities. However, recent reviews highlight recurring issues with mold in certain rooms, particularly in the 300-400 wing, and occasional concerns about noise levels and inconsistent service.

My first stay at Gaylord! Was visiting Boyne Mountain for skiing and Gaylord is great place to stay for that purpose. The hotel was well kept, clean and my room was same! I enjoyed the hot tub and pool. Breakfast was fine and the coffee excellent. Best Western was tge best rate at the time as well. I will return and this location is highly recommended!!

Have stayed at this hotel a few times now, always been a nice hotel, great and friendly staff but unfortunately this time wasn’t so great, nothing with the staff but the rooms in the 300-400 wing have mold through the exterior wall. We could smell it as soon as the ac turned on, on top of the the main hallway to get to the room also has a moldy mildew smell to is, The windows are leaking and the wallpaper is peeling back and it’s nothing but black mold, I took it up to the front desk and the lady was super nice and gave us keys to a another room down the hall which unfortunately had the same issue, went and checked on my co workers room in the same hall and same thing, we went back down there she appoligized again and gave us a room in the 100 hall, room smell way better and no signs of leaking windows or mold. Definitely need to do repairs on the 300-400 hall but other than that rest of hotel is great!

Very pleased with this hotel. The lobby smelled good, the hallways were clean. The room was also much bigger than I expected. Very good rate for the room as well. The furniture is in good condition and the bathroom was spotless as well. The hotel is also conveniently located near a bunch of good food options.

Very disgusting hotel I paid $1,200 for my wife and daughter to spend 12 days up north they got to the hotel room. Went and did some shopping then went to eat dinner went back to the room and my daughter found a big puddle of blood on the floor by the toilet so nasty ? my wife took pictures of it. Went down and asked the front desk if they could send somebody down to clean it up and they said management is an in so I asked okay can you move me to another room and the lady said I am the only one here tonight I can't move you to another room my daughter is 11 she was throwing up from the site of the blood. I said that's fine I will write a review so the lady called the cops it made me leave the hotel at 1:00 in the morning and tried to deny my refund. Thankfully I got a hold of somebody in booking.com and they resolved some of the money situation I should not have had to pay anything for that disgusting room not to mention the hot tub which is not for not working properly and looks nasty. My wife and daughter had to drive all the way back down state at 1:00 in the morning. Would not recommend this hotel to anybody I do not care what your budget is front desk lady was very rude and disrespectful and the heat barely worked in the room as well

Usually best western has such a good reputation. I have stated other best westerns and have been very happy. That was not the case at this hotel. First of all, there was no control for the temperature in my refrigerator and all of the food and beverages that I purchased froze solid and much of it had to be thrown away. Also, none of the buttons for the temperature for the room controller worked. I had cold air blowing on me in February. In addition to that, I have been trying for two days to get a receipt for my stay since it was a business trip. The hotel insists that Booking.com has to do it, and Booking.com is insisting that the hotel has it in their contract. I paid with my credit card at the desk at the hotel so I’m not sure why it was impossible to give me an invoice. My last complaint is that the parking lot was solid ice. I never once in three days there saw anyone put salt or anything on the pavement to help walking to and from my car. I come to Gaylord frequently on business and will never ever stay in this hotel again.

This place was the perfect launching point for our weekend at Boyne Mountain. The mountain is about 30 minutes away, but the drive is easy (even in the blowing snow). Breakfast is kind of awesome. They always had some kind of egg (different every day) and some kind of meat (like sausage or bacon). Then fill in with the waffles, coffee, and the rest of the other traditional breakfast items. The pool has a huge hot tub that was clean enough for us. The room was also clean and bug free. No complaints here. The cleaning staff does a great job. As a bonus, our room had a sink outside the bathroom - which was perfect for those times you want to wash your hands while your friend is blowing up the toilet.

This was a terrible experience. Couldn't get the number to the place directly, had to book thru a central hub. Asked if they had a hot tub. Yup got a hot tub. Check in. They tell us hot tubs been down for weeks. Ratty carpets thru the hallways. Used cups behind the bed.

My family and I stayed here on Thanksgiving night. Check-in was great, desk clerk was awesome. Got up to our rooms and one of them didn't have heat. The desk clerk came up to the room and got the heat working. Then the power went out, not the fault of the hotel, power lines were falling and catching on fire. Asked and got extra blankets to keep warm until power was restored. Power was restored around 1:30am. In the morning tried to take a shower but there wasn't any hot water. Mentioned this at check out and was told it should be working now....I am checking out unable now to take a shower. Was not offered any type of discount for all the inconveniences.
